PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE



Mr. Steinert has been a Groundwater Geologist with the firm since May 2014. Major areas of groundwater work have encompassed office services in relation to creating a GIS database of all company projects and well information since 2001; processing poor or missing data from well hydrographs and rainfall gauges into useful information; assist the Upper Los Angeles River Area ULARA Watermaster, Richard C. Slade, in the creation of maps, figures, and tables which describe the quality and quantity of groundwater in the basin; create maps, geologic cross sections, tables, and other figures for reports to clients; access data through programming tools to submit queries to a state-wide water quality database from 1984 – present; utilize digital elevation models and average precipitation models along with geologic maps to calculate annual recharge for properties in Napa County.

Prior work has included: assisted graduate students at CSUN with geologic modeling and computer analysis for research papers and theses; prepared laboratory equipment and demonstrations for classroom use in chemistry and geology; developed a customized software solution for tracking student information including grades, attendance, and contact details for over 4000 students; using and maintaining mass spectrometers, scanning electron microscopes, and control systems; assisted in data analysis for public and private research projects; streamlined data processing using Visual Basic; created and maintained the local computer network. His education focused on geologic hazards, soils, and public outreach.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
assisting the Upper Los Angeles River Area ULARA Watermaster, Richard C. Slade, with creation of maps, geologic cross sections, contour maps, figures, and tables for the Annual Watermaster Report and the Pumping and Spreading Plan report as needed, as well as for several Technical Memoranda for the Salt & Nutrient Management Program within ULARA for the Regional Water Quality Control Board and all Parties involved in the ULARA Judgment. Other duties include: catalog and create a GIS database of all company projects and well information since 2001; process poor or missing data from well hydrographs, rainfall gauges, and operator error into useful information through the use of programming and Excel; create maps, geologic cross sections, tables, and other figures for reports to clients; program tools to submit SQL queries and access a State-wide water quality database from 1984 to present; utilize digital elevation models and average precipitation models along with geologic maps to calculate annual recharge for properties in Napa County.

Field services work includes interacting with drillers and pumpers during the field monitoring of well construction and well rehabilitation; gathering information from field sources, such as the data from water level transducers, and the collection of water quality samples pertaining to Title 22 standards for drinking water in California.

Developed a customized software solution for tracking student information, including: grades; attendance; and contact details for over 4,000 students. Worked as a Laboratory Assistant in the Chemistry and Geology departments. After college graduation, worked as a Substitute Teacher.

September 2005 – January 2007 Worked as a Chemical Analytics Assistant. Used and maintained mass spectrometers, scanning electron microscopes, and control systems. Created and maintained the local computer network for the Chemical Analytics department.
